FAQ
Q: As all our plants will be grown for the winter indoors, can you please give us a best winter guide temperature?
A: Almost all grafted Mangoes will flower if exposed to temperatures below 15’C (60’F) for a several hours per day for at least 2 consecutive weeks. Temperatures in the 15-18’C (60-65’F) range are good. Adult trees are able to flower up to 3 times a year. If it is too cold or wet, they will loose the inflorescence’s and flower again, about 2 months later, until the right season for fruit set is matched.
Q: Is timing an issue? Is early Nov-Dec better than Feb-March?
A: I would say that closer proximity to warmer temperatures is beneficial. That is to say, the fruit quality is better when temperatures are warmer while it is developing. February/March would presumably be more ideal.
