Gone but not forgotten. Next shoot started, can be left on or taken off and rooted similar to tops.

Dry top in sun for 2-3 days.
Remove dried skin/flesh. peel off any dried leaves and trim stump to reveal root tips.
Root tips quite distinct. Allow to dry for 1-2 days.
Place onto shallow pot of soil with a couple of sticks to keep upright. Water well in, yes over the top, until soil nice and moist. place in a ventilated area with lots of light, but not direct sun.
With one I did a couple of months ago. Will now pot this earlier one into a 2gal pot.

Yes, the fifth stage is in the sun ripening. So yes full circle.
